Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Martin Jensen and Lise bring us one of the most wanted sites for the manpower site. The Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. The more than 100 temples are the sacred remains of what was once a much larger administrative and religious centre. All built between the 9th and 13th centuries to glorify a succession of Khmer kings. The temples were abandoned in the 15th century and were gradually cloaked by forest. Rediscovered by French naturalist Henri Mouhot in the late-19th century after the publication of Voyage à Siam et dans le Cambodge.
