A picture taken in front of the Church of São Francisco in Anchieta Plaza, Pelourinho. The building of the church was started in 1708 and finished in 1723. Its extravagant decoration – along with gold plated wood carving - is an example of the mid-18th century baroque style, and it realizes the ideal of the golden church, which originated in Lisbon at the end of the 17th century.
